About Peter Tarrant
Peter started his graphics career as a lithographic artist.
He has lived in Scotland for most of his life at the Gateway to the Trossachs, now part of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
Mountains, Lochs, the change of light, and vast open spaces with miles of sky give ideas and inspiration for Peter's vivid and strong art.
A Professional Associate of the SAA. Peter Tarrant say's - "As a contemporary landscape artist I want my painting to be expressive and inspire the feeling of the landscape, leaving detail images for photography. Painting to Peter is like music, it is inspired, has feeling and tells a story, leaves even more to the imagination.
It’s not what you say it’s what you don’t say! Paintings are the same, the enjoyment comes from an imagination. Emotion inspired for both the artist and viewer."
The West Coast of Scotland is the big inspiration - "I could not envisage running out of subject to paint, the light is different throughout the day. I cannot go there and not want to paint."
